Why The Carry

Independent. Editorial. Not for sale.

There's no shortage of writing about Britain's early-stage market. Most of it is recycled announcements, or write-ups kept friendly so the funds keep talking. The people writing the cheques deserve better, so we started The Carry.

We take no money from the funds we cover, and we don't run sponsored content dressed up as editorial. Every issue is written for the reader, not the room.

Editorial standards we hold ourselves to

Publish what's true and useful, even when it's uncomfortable for someone in the room.
Name names where the public interest is served. Protect sources where it isn't.
Provide context, not investment advice - what's happening and what it likely means, not what you should buy.
Correct mistakes prominently and publicly. Update the record when new information emerges.
